Uniforms for the Dedicated . Autumn/Winter 2010 . March of No Coincidence

Brought by a group of struggling play characters making their way through a hail of commands, Uniforms for the Dedicated combines the clothing line of fall 2010 with a new awaited music release, conceptual artwork, and short film, all under a shared project name. The collective has combined their creations around a March of No Coincidence, a created concept of a board game which play instructions merely are left to be bended for realization of any vision or destiny of liking. The clothing design of a fall 2010 originates from the classic workingman hero of the post-war era, with influences especially from minors and railway workers. In combination with updated materials and fits the design stands out as a playful yet functional; washed down high-waist workpants, heavy coated jackets, mohair knits, varsity club jackets, and last not least; art garments in organic jersey based on acclaimed artist Mikel Nilsson’s interpretation of collection concept.

With the conception that an adventurous state of mind foster both creativity and degree of opportunity, the multitalented collective has captured their alter egos on March of No Coincidence, a board game which play instructions merely are left to be bended for realization of any vision or destiny of liking. By leaving few things to coincidence, the winning player escapes the otherwise predetermined paths to move towards more prospecting adventures.

“The March of No Coincidence relates to our general view of creativity and entrepreneurship. By redefining common practice or bending those rules stumbled upon we aim to break new grounds. – Lars Johan Hedberg, Creative Co-founder & Communications

Similarly Uniforms for the Dedicated seeks to create a sustainable look rather than keeping up with a general trend. The collective keeps their playful yet functional direction, crossing elements from various forms of design and time periods, all things transformed into an affordable easy-to-wear uniform. This philosophy also correlates to the defined purpose of Uniforms for the Dedicated; different artistic expressions under one umbrella, also allowing them to continuously co-operate over artistic boundaries. With that said, expect more to come from Uniforms for the Dedicated in future.

First established in 2007, Uniforms for the Dedicated is put forth by individuals of varied backgrounds and ideas; musicians, illustrators, designers, and more, who together form a continuously growing playground of men’s fashion, music, and various forms of art. Uniforms for the Dedicated was awarded “rookie of the year” by the Swedish Fashion Council during Stockholm Fashion Week 2008, and more recently voted the upcoming brand of 2009 by Café Magazine, the number one men’s fashion magazine in Sweden.

Morethanlove: I love the visual style they gave to the campaign and the glorious outfits. My personal compliments go to their stylist … Cool guys!
