Tamra Davis charts the meteoric rise and fall of her late friend, Jean-Michel Basquiat, died in overdose at 28 years old in the crime – ridden New York City of the ’70s. The risks of acquiring a rock star status and becoming billionaire at 25… Tamra combines never-before-seen interviews footage of Basquiat with commentary from friends and art world luminaries from the like s of Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, Jeffrey Deitch, Larry Gagosian. The director is excellent in picturing the mysteries that surrounded the charismatic young man embodying the downtown scene of those intense years.
