Steam Punk . Old styles release steam in the future
What if the world had taken a different course of events? We might be witnesses of a real ucronia, and anachronistic ages could be mixed with futuristic innovations, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, style, having as a result the creation of a brandnew genre.
Steampunk is a sub-genre that involves a setting where steam power is widely used, the scenario describes Victorians styles mixed with science and new analog technology. Steampunk takes as inspiration the industrial revolution with its stories, novels and legends. The writer Jules Verne is considered the father of this current, his passion for science and technology details in his novels are legendary.
It is interesting to see how the followers have created a very personal vision of fashion and accessories. Common clothing consist of: braces, glasses aviator, belts of various sizes, leather gloves, everything very classy and very sexy, with Victorian clothes ripped by side. This world is populated by warriors, airships, ladies and gentlemen wearing cylinders from which emerge mechanical hands or cyber-eyes. The must-have are the aviator glasses and some inevitable accessories are dentures attached to the eyes.
We can’t even miss the dolls, here presented as modern monsters created by vintage toys. There is a taste for the macabre and the avant-garde, the creation of some post-nuclear scenarios in which they come forward to define a new cycle of life.
