Each White Fashion Show, during the Milan Fashion week, we find a lot of new products and ideas to write about. The team of Design Catwalk in that period is scattered throughout the world for both business and personal research, it is the second time that we are invited to the Paris fashion week. But this time it was clearly a disappointment not to be able to go to the marvellous French city because I must admit that Milan has given his best to create a different fashion environment, so cool that even Anna Wintour made some shocking revelation about our prime minister, perhaps on seeing a nation with so much talent but so poorly administered.
In all the frenzy of this glamourous week, I was constantly busy on the art direction of a new project for White Fashion Show, an important step forward for the Milanese fair which decided to support new talent in fashion. “Six Talents for White” is the name of this fantastic project which saw the participation of designers from around the world thanks to an idea of Simona Severini and Massimiliano Bizzi, general directors of the fair. We are also happy to say something regarding Design Catwalk collaboration with Simona, who really loves our blog and who allowed us to bring support in the suggestion of some designers we follow and we talked in the past months (Augustine Teboul and Kevin Kramp).
So even brands such as CO|TE and Natacha Talay are really common to us since their birth, but we were pleasantly surprised to see new other talents from Israel and Sweden such us Mirit Weinstock and Altewai Saome who presented amazing pieces of jewellery born from straw and die-cut technique transformed in work of art. Beautiful collections, a balanced variety of styles and for the first time in Milan something really helpful for young brands, they met the best buyers worldwide personally.
