Cassandra Rhodin, Artaksinjia, Ilaria Falorsi: three young women, three illustrators, three different styles that we really love.
Did I ever tell you that my first occupation, besides being a blogger, is fashion designer? Ok, so I’m currently working for a big Italian pret à porter brand, and one of the distinctive tracts of the brand is to use a character (like Disney’s or Warner Bros) in prints basically to improve sales.

Did I ever tell you that my first occupation, besides being a blogger, is fashion designer? Ok, so I’m currently working for a big Italian pret à porter brand, and one of the distinctive tracts of the brand is to use a character (like Disney’s or Warner Bros) in t-shirt prints and stuff, basically to improve sales. Well, thanks to a good artistic direction, since a couple of seasons we started using also young illustrators’ works to give a less commercial feel and communicate something new. That’s why last week I started looking for what and who could fit the brand’s style for SS 2011.

I’m glad to tell you about three illustrators which I fell in love with.

The first is Swedish and her name is Cassandra Rhodin. It’s not easy to learn something about her browsing online: so all I can tell you is she’s a great illustrator with a wonderful taste, and that she’s got a number of collaborations with H&M for tshirt graphics and H&M home stuff, as well as faboulous wallpapers you can find on yourwallpaper.se.

The second is Russian and I guess her name’s easier to be told than written: Artaksinija. She’s got a very graphic and clean line which I appreciate a lot. I absolutely love her series of illustrations dedicated to the great icons of fashion. Do you recognize them?

Last but not least, the Italian illustrator Ilaria Falorsi. She’s got a unique, fresh and spontaneous ironic style – you can find more illustrations on her blog. She’s worked for important Italian publishers and illustrated the last childrenwear advertising campaign by Ermanno Scervino. Love her funny little characters and the way she draws booby-butty female bodies. I had the chanche to have a quick and funny portrait of myself done… and that’s so me!!

So, go on drawing girls!!
