Power Duo: Augustin Teboul
Annelie Augustin has graduated with honours from Esmod Paris in 2006 later finished her postgraduate degree in CSM in 2009. Odély Teboul graduated from Esmod Paris too. After Annelie worked for Yohji Yamamoto and Odély for Jean Paul Gaultier they formed ‘Augustin Teboul‘ and they did their first show installation in 2011 Berlin Fashion Week. Two women and two spheres of contemporary fashion design who united in Spring 2010 to create a unique womenswear collection together.The designer-Duo presented its first womenswear collection within the official calendar of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Augustin Teboul lifted the curtain to display their personal, edgy and curious version of the classic Little Red Riding Hood tale. The press release explained the installation in Berlin as; “a cool atmosphere prevailed in the Boudoir-like setting enchanted only through the playfulness and complexity of the designs. Red Hair was lavishly piled up to eccentric art-pieces that beautifully framed pale faces with crimson lips. Conceptualized and realized by Hair and Make-up Artist Lisa Zeitler the styling highlighted the enigmatic scene and drew the attention to the clear-black clothes of Augustin Teboul: Slim fitted dresses, skirts and skinny trousers, embroidered, knitted, a studded leather jacket met delicate embroidery, legs in tights like spun pitch, a transformation of the innocent girl from the seduced into the seducing – Augustin Teboul told their guests a tragicomical, thrilling story.” Experimental designs by Augustin Teboul form their creations with cuts, patterns and also with the high quality fabrics they use, and the way they use them in knitted, crocheted details, patchwork leathers show a contrast just as the dark tale of the Red Riding Hood.
