Nostalgia del passato
Ricordate quando la moda seguiva ancora delle regole? Ricordo per esempio quando era assolutamente proibitivo girare con stivali e pantaloncini oppure indossare assieme colori come il blu e il nero nello stesso outfit. Mi piace questo periodo di libertà totale che vive la moda… tutti indossano tutto… ma sinceramente ho un pò di nostalgia di alcune regole del passato. Ricordo che al liceo potevo capire il genere di musica che una persona ascoltava semplicemente osservando l’abbigliamento. Con questo non voglio assolutamente che la gente venga forzata ad appartenere a dei gruppi, ma a volte ricordo quel periodo come se fosse più chiaro, più esplicativo dei caratteri delle persone, più onesto. Probabilmente questo è avvenuto anche a voi, di avere nostalgia di alcune cose vissute perché appartenenti ad un periodo della gioventù. Ma ogni giorno sembra che tutti indossino gli stessi insiemi di cose con l’unica variabile come fattore aggregante “la marca e il negozio” piuttosto che il genere musicale. Dove compri i tuoi vestiti? H&M, YSL o in un piccolo negozio indipendente, “alternativo”? Ricordo quei tempi quando la creatività di ognuno saltava fuori già da ciò che indossava… forse oggi migrata altrove oppure concentrata sulla propria pagina di facebook o il dj che ti fa ballare, ma comunque sia, a me mancano quei piccoli stupidi trends che hanno caratterizzato la mia infanzia, solo questo.
Missing the Fashion Rigor of my Past
Do you remember when fashion had rules? For example, I remember it was absolutely forbidden wear tall boots with shorts or to place navy blue and black together in the same outfit. I love this time of fashion freedom… Everybody wearing Everything…but honestly i have a bit of nostalgia for the rigor of the rules of the past. In high school I remember being able to tell what kind of music each person listened to by the way they had adorned themselves. It is not that I want to categorize and force people into groups but it just seemed that pack then things seemed more clear, more honest. Obviously I am no longer a youngster and most likely everyone has felt the same thing at one point, a nostalgia for the past because it seems more “real” and more honest. But each day it seems to me that everyone is wearing the same mishmash of items, the only difference being where they purchased it. Your store or more specifically your label of choice has replaced music as the representative characteristic of groups…did you buy your clothes at H&M, the YSL store or a small independent boutique…because the clothes are all styled relatively the same. I remember the times when your creative expression came to life through your clothes, maybe now it comes to life through your facebook page or what dj you dance to on the weekend…but I still miss those silly little details that woven together characterized the individuals of my youth.
