Have you ever had one of those nights where in the next morning the only thing you can remember is having loads of fun and one too many cocktails? Clearly many red blooded Londoners often enjoy nights as such, considering the exhibition held at Rich Mix called Noughtie Nightlife. The exhibition took a trip to the famous clubs and memorable parties at night in London. Besides the ‘out of this world’ approach of Made in Britain especially in art, the exhibition took a hit at modern photography with bold and vivid frames. A warning for the elderly though, this may not be the type of exhibition you want to take your grandchildren on the weekend due to the somewhat explicit content. The exposure of bodies, faces, expression of self, and a very brave sense of fashion and style were a concluding sum of the concept that was transferred through the images. Celebrating the trends, fashions and creativity of the young souls at night, the exhibitions brought together the naughty mass in the daylight minus the shenanigans. Curated by Anthony Price who is a researcher in London College of Fashion, a DJ and a photographer the exhibition showed his eccentric personal style towards this pop cultural activity. The exhibition held works of other amazing photographers  who attended the parties such as; Billa Baldwin, James Unsworth, Ellis Scott, Christopher James (weknowwhatyoudidlastnight.com) and many worthy others. Focused mainly on the fashion and the attitudes of the clubers, Noughtie Nightlife captures the legendary nights namely Nag Nag Nag, Anti-Social and Circus.  The photographs portrayed a mix and match of styles, cultures, different ethnicities, and definitely various ways to have fun during the high tech almost sci-fi era we are currently in. The images exhibited were for sure fearless and daring but nothing Brits can’t handle to be perfectly honest.

*The images will be held in the archives of London College of Fashion for further appreciation.
