MUUSE
MUUSE is an online sale project that has the “mission to bring the work of the most talented fashion designers to people who love design – without filtering by retailers or policing by trend forecasters.” Selecting pieces from gradates collections and also experimental fashion brands MUUSE wants to inspire a new type of ‘fashion buyer’ by bringing with the pictures of the clothes also the drawings, the inspiration, the the story of the collection.
Futured in MUUSE Lars Paschke says “I do not understand fashion as clothing but moreover as a comment on clothes in clothing.” With his Cynthia Collection that “deals with the use of esoteric massproducts and their healing significance to people, being an object of desire, even though being cheaply produced. We enter a world of home made escapism, pendulums, mandala window painting, vases filled with coloured sand, meditation music, led lights changing through all colors of a fluorescent rainbow right in our living room.” Stine Riis won the the Biddle Sawyer Silk Award for ‘Innovative use of Textiles’. ‘I’m a nerd with fabrics, I enter a bubble where I can experiment for days, till I have developed something I like’.
