On February 13th something special happened in the fashion world.

But let’s start from the beginning.

As the Fashion Bible states: “And Karl said, Let there be designers’ capsule collections: and there were designers’ capsule collections.”

After Karl for H&M nearly everyone made a capsule for any brand you can imagine. And many designers and celebrities collaborated on the Opening Ceremony, which actually is pretty famous for being super hipster and cool and extremely designer-friendly.

But, come on, you wouldn’t ever expect HIM to make a capsule, ever. HE is the purity, the concept, the designer of the designers, the Platonic ideal of a designer, the essence… he is MARGIELA. Just naming him in the same sentence with “capsule collection” makes any designer’s  and fashion addict’s mouth water, because it means more Margiela (MM6, to be more specific), in limited edition, and hopefully at an affordable price. Affordable. Margiela. Oh my.

That said, the preview on the pieces is interesting of course. The concept of all the twenty pieces is 3 in 1: everyone of them can be turned into three different things, for different uses and occasions. Like a bag you can divide in three different ones, big/medium/large, or a jacket with detacheable lining, or a cropped faux fur coat which contains another piece of outwear underneath which in turn disguises a v-neck basic. I love the brown cropped boot that can become a knee high.

Thank you Martin for this unexpected gift, I love you even more.
