Makin Jan Ma (MJM) has presented at White Milan different new wonderful pieces including Dee, the brandnew woman collection. Below a list of the main theme behind the creation of each MJM’s line.
J. Sky (Menswear collection) is a ‘libre-seeker’, he is an adventurous and charismatic individual, encouraging the people along the way to live their life to the fullest. This season J. Sky’s Collection represents the character’s attempts to establish his secret “Benny’s” community. Benny is a term adopted by J. Sky referring to friends with benefits. With his mission to spread his concept of love, he takes on the streets with his “Hey Baby Lets Be Benny’s” t-shirt in the search of new community members. The collection is compromised of easy to wear garments that are conveniently adaptable to any occasion.
This season the Guts (Unisex) collection is endeavouring to the moon in search of a distant long-lost love. This imaginary journey explores the instinctive tension caused by love and distance, trembling between the feelings of hope and despair. The collection is carefully crafted out of twisted fabrics that represent emotional tension, moon printed garments inviting the wearer to step into the unknown. An effect of colour metamorphosis demonstrates rapidly changing emotions, and the armour like garments protect the wearer in moments of despair.
Makin Jan Ma introduced DEE for AW2010 (Womenswear), Dee is the latest addition of the character within the brand. In the new season, DEE takes form by the print of childlike-hearted rustic mind of her own view about the world. She strikes in between stripes of black and white. A collection of pieces filled with heavy emotions, desires and love; shown in the way of prints.
MJM invites the audience to take on a garment that represents a certain trait, or put on an entire new personality.
