It is what’s inside that counts
One of my favorite scene from the movie “He’s Just Not That Into You” is due to the very first dialogue between the little girl and the boy. The 6 year old boy pushes the girl who is making castles out of sand -don’t we all do at some point in our life- and yells and the girl who is looking with asking eyes; ” Because you smell like poo! You’re so stupid just like dog poo! You’re made of poo!”
So the girl runs crying back to her mom for comfort and there the mom tells the biggest lie on the planet. I will spare it for the ones who haven’t seen the movie yet. But it is unchangable that we listen our mothers tad bit too much when it comes to our comfort zone to hear yet again another -don’t want to call it ‘lie’ let’s say- pink little story is told.
“Honey” she calls out from the kitchen, “it doesn’t matter what you look like! It’s what’s inside that counts!”
Guess what? In this case, it is no joke, the truth! But don’t get too excited, the inside I am referring to is a little less spiritual and a little more lacy.
So here we stand in front of an underwear store to pick something not only to wear under the garments but to reveal our inner self. May it be wild, tame, sporty or natural the variety is dashing to the five senses, yes even smell! Whether it is a selling technique or a psychological association I don’t really know but why does leopard print smells spicy whereas pink lace reminds the smell of roses? The choices in cup, shape even the fantasy differs from one another to fulfill any need at sight of the costumers by brands as La Perla and Agent Provocateur and many more just so we reveal our inner beauty! On that note that inner beauty of ours might not be what our mothers or friends think of us when we wear pearls on top of our tweed Chanel -or anything really- which is exactly why, what’s inside counts because at dark you can let loose to become who you really are “inside”.
