I-rEgular Fashion
I don’t know about anyone else but I prefer a darker fashion sense, that is always more theatrical and dramatic. As I was strolling around the web I found Barbara Í Gongini. She is a Danish designer who graduated from Danmarks Designskole in 1996 and founded her eco friendly sustainable fashion label in 2005. Besides being a fashion designer she is also involved with photography, music and film. Barbara’s work has a gothic side that is combined with minimalism. The lines created through the clothes show the sense of careless beauty with theatrical twist. This is of course for her I-rEgular fashion line, which is a more experimental range showcased in the catwalk. In addition to this she has a simpler line named rEgular. Barbara í Gongini’s says that the ‘whole concept is about using things in different ways, keeping the form as open as possible so the customer keeps an interaction with their particular style’. I assume, although there is a touch of minimalism involved in the designs of this very particular style in clothing, accessories and jewelry, one needs to be courageous enough to be able to wear them absorbing in one’s own style the core concept that originally inspired the designer .
