MOGA E MAGO are the modern girl and the magician. Founded in Berlin by
Elisa Lindenberg and Tobias Noventa only last autumn, the brand have
successfully presented their outstanding collection of leather and fur
accessories at this summer’s Berlin Fashion Week.

The two designers, enriched by their working experiences in Rome, New York
City and Mexico, returned to Berlin in 2009 to work on the launch of their
new line creating high-end-fashion adapting various opposite elements to a
fresh, delicate and modern way of seeing through a factory-style lens.

MOGA E MAGO are translating BDSM elements, over-the-top luxury goods and
minimalist, refined materials to a collection of must-have accessories,
such as shoulder-pieces, head-pieces, braces and bags in order to pimp up
any every-day look.

The risks of acquiring a rock star status and becoming billionaire at 25… Tamra combines never-before-seen interviews footage of Basquiat with commentary from friends and art world luminaries from the like s of Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, Jeffrey Deitch, Larry Gagosian. The director is excellent in picturing the mysteries that surrounded the charismatic young man embodying the downtown scene of those intense years.

The second creative call closed last June, 18 and we are still receiving many projects.
Among the several Universities which joined the creative call, some of these are still sending their students’ projects; anyway we have started a pre-selection but the chosen authors’ names will not be released before the end of August.

In the meanwhile the presentation of the first collection, realized following the creative call of May 2009, continues as preview at institutional website WMATY.COM.

THIS IS ME

Thai student with a product design background but with the passion for accessories.
I’m currently working on a shoes project for my thesis in Milan, Italy. In my opinion, shoes are pieces of art – they are not only functional, but also inspiring. My design is focused on creativity, experimentation and innovation. I’m fond of mixing different materials and I mixed and matched different kinds of materials and explored my ideas for shoes and bags.

THIS IS MY ARTWORK – TEMPORARY NIGHT

The reflections of the moon, night lights and the shadows inspired Premrudee’s artwork; we present this author for the second time with a clutch bag. A rigid tubular form, enriched by wiggly puffs makes TEMPORARY NIGHT timeless.
The central form of this lightweight clutch (only 150 gr) is a cylinder with an opening at the top. A single panel, whose structure is formed by 32 thin tubes Alutex, an aluminized fiberglass fabric product with excellent technical and aesthetic qualities, particularly used in the design and furnishing. The tubes are bond with a particular embroidery and lined with black silk embroidered with tubes and curled at the tips.
The panel is then rolled around two discs, left open with the top opening. A structure elegant and at the same time extremely resistant to hits, temperature and weather.
Style and materials merged together for a fashion-tech artwork.

Palermo – Italy, January 31, 1986

My training clearly expresses the two fundamental sides of my professional character – a degree in Industrial Design at the University of Palermo and graduation in Design of Shoes and Accessories at the European Istitute of Design (IED), Barcelona. I always try to combine artistic creativity with industrial rationality. I like to merge forms and contaminate fashion with other forms of art.

THIS IS MY ARTWORK – UP SHOES

Claudia Civilleri’s UP SHOES is a very interesting project. The original idea involved the creation of models with polyurethane mould, but agree with the author, we have preferred a different process to ensure a higher quality of the finished product in terms of ergonomics and stability.
To copy the swelling obtained with the plastic materials, an embroidery machine of the seventies has been found again in a basement, a machine able to sew the strips of two-tone leather, with no visible seams and at the same time, entering expanded material into one of the two colors, creating bulges.
The shoe does not have separate upper and lining, but it is a unique piece. Also outside these are one piece, seamless and blocked just in front. In this way the product is very light and, despite the height of 105mm, the walk is not compromised at all.
A soft, comfortable and elegant object, but at the same time funny and ironic also able to mix style with industrial technology, simplicity of materials with the construction complexity.

In late August we will show the last products which will complete the first collection WHAT’S MORE ALIVE THAN YOU®.

Embodying Ethics
Embodying Ethics is an attempt of creating a Critical Design positioning to produce Socially Responsive design. The objects question the narrative of production, its material, origin, manufacturing but also challenges the narrative of consumption, creating new interaction and social experiences. The focus of this work is to examine Designs ability to ask carefully crafted questions than just provide solutions. The objects question ethics, create dilemma, provoke debate, raise awareness and allows design to deal with more complex human emotions and values. This project Embodying Ethics works on a methodology called the Ethical Design System, which is used as a tool for innovation to create ‘new objects’. These new objects are justified for their existence as they replace values of consumption and destruction with reflection and appreciation.

Cow Leg Trouser
An archetype of a trouser in leather that fits a human form transforms to fit one leg of a cow. A reminder of its origin and mass commodification of a living form into an object.

Hunter Jacket
The hunter jacket that transforms into a Ram’s head wall mount. A suggestion of a trophy for hunting, as a pleasure activity. The transformation narrates the use/function of the jacket.

Sheep Organ Bag
A sheep skin hand bag that holds within the organs of the sheep as compartments. A suggestion of its victim + source and an attempt to provoke a reflection on this mass produced and consumed object.

Tree shadow chair
A blond wood chair with an upholstery that transforms into a shadow of a tree. A reflection on the mass consumption and on issues of deforestation and destruction of animal habitat.

Speaking of Berlin, a bus is not a bus if you’re at the Bread&Butter fair, like a desert scene but with urban icons, and who knows the amazing stuff stucked inside it. We can just imagine! And what about Iuter creator as dj? Love it!
