Some weeks ago I was wandering around Paris, I was there for the fashion week and at some point I decided to go to a flea market in the north side of the city. It’s very famous for its knick-knacks and vintage stuff. The market is located at the gateways of Paris, a paradise for the curious vintage fans and all the fashion designers  hunting for old details that they can use for their new creations. The name of the market is the “Puces de Paris Saint Ouen“. You get off at Porte de Clignancourt, and then, if you’re lucky as I was, you meet some guys that offer to take you to the vintage market (a french girl who lives in New Caledonia and his brother who lives in Paris, they were just adorable!). Without their help it was just impossible for me to find the place, knowing how quickly I get bored of  looking for things. Once there, I ended up in a place of vintage chic clothes called “Falbalas” (Marché Dauphine), a kind of ‘happening’ where people were dressed up in theme costumes was taking place while elegantly dressed people were  sipping tea (although I after realized that maybe they were wearing their usual outfits). Among other things, I discovered that the shop’s name derives from a famous film in which, Philippe Clarence, a famous parisian dressmaker, seduces his friend’s fiancee, a movie directed by Jacques Becker. The film is also a portrait  of the fashion world of that period. When the owner of the shop invited me to see an exhibition of luxury vintage clothes she had organized few meters from there, I was over joyed because they usually don’t allow you to take pics. In this post you have a detailed account of what I found really interesting and there was a lot it. I love Paris and I can say without exaggeration that this city has more passion than any other international city of the world I’ve been to.
