A short video of the catwalk

Design Catwalk has been invited for the first time to attend Paris fashion week. Abs fab! But with all DC team throughout Europe and with me completely overwhelmed by work, in order to have the chance to attend the fashion events, I decided to stop everything in Milan for few days and leaving for Paris. How could we refuse an invitation like this? I mean, we’re talking about Paris! I decided to book a hotel in Montmartre, I love that scenic view, and to prepare everything to be ready for the shows.

Once there, I was amazed by the wonderful parade of MIHARAYASUHIRO, a Japanese designer well known both for his own brand and of course for the collaborations held from 2000 with Puma. There was definitely a great sense of style, perhaps the tailoring’s sharpest new cuts seen in Paris. The man in his show was wrapped in wool jackets and duffel coats that turned into some sort of cloack, and short trousers have enriched the outfits by the presence of warm leggings to wear underneath. All the creations followed the designer’s concept of exploring the world of the most international iconographic dandy, best known as Oscar Wilde. Almost everything had a sophisticated feel: very significant for the collection were also the tweed jackets with metal decorations above the shoulders, they customized in a very original way the garments (they recall the vintage brooches now back in women wardrobe). The photo-jacquard technique has certainly played an important role too, with wool textile placements printed all over the collection. A very inspirational soundtrack for the exhibition was led by a cool pianist, chosen to give a surreal music to the catwalk. A truly lovely collection.

For internal choice, in order to give priority of a range of coolhunting material developed during the latest weeks (White / Pitti / Bread & Butter), we have decided to emphasize only the shows in line with our editorial style. So due to a full schedule of topics, we can’t publish some features.

We love Paris!
