Time is so fast and it seems yesterday when I discovered the duo Sandrina Fasoli. The brand was winning the great opportunity contest MangoFashionAward (lots of money to produce your line…go on with it!!!).

Speaking to a friend I wondered how long it was since I hadn’t visited the website (a whole year), and so I took a look to the last two collections: great.  brief and cutting.  simple and subtle.

Speaking about shoes to women is like talking with children about sweets and candies, you can easily bribe both. Women often experience euphoric moments when in their minds flashes a desire: “I deserve a gift.”

Recently I took a break from Europe and I decided to go to NYC for vacation and coolhunting, once I got there I thought it was the “I deserve a gift” right moment , the result was: three pairs of Acrobats of God and Nicole Brundage’shoes! Ouch!

I bought the first pair of shoes from Nicole’s collection six years ago and I settled them in the house as a trophy of worship.

This time I opted a version with heel and two flat shoes that are perfect for cycling in the city all day long! The colour of my bike is black so they fit really well with that colour! Which kind of damages has done to your pocket your “Deserve a gift” moment?

Among his fans are superstars of the like of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. His fashion icons are Vivienne Westwood, Hussein Chalayan, Nicolas Ghesquiere, and Helmut Lang.

The 28 year old Californian designer started his own fashion line seven years ago and his style is a tribute to the most sparkling fashions from the 70’s to the 90’s, all made of padded shoulders, freaky metallic fabrics, neon colors, elaborated patchworks, bold shapes and very Susie Bubble style patchwork leggings – which personally I LOVE.

This exhibition was really a discovery. The location was new and interesting (an old horse stable or something like that, with pieces of white and blue tiles – to be seen in the next post – probably part of the Corsini Garden, an other beautiful location that hosts other events like charity fashion shows and handcraft markets).

The creations of  RECYCLED REUSED REBORN made by the artist Gian Marco Lamuraglia are inspiring and “green”, and were shown together with spring calling visuals by The Fake Factory.

Vozianov is an Ukraine label designed by Fedor Vozianov, that describes itself as “remaining within peculiar borders of wearability, comfort and certain visual conservatism” and “tending not to produce excess product in order not to pollute the market and visual environment”. I have not tried the clothes and I actually believe that contemporary design should manage through high-developed pattern making innovative but wearable shapes: but compared to many, I actually wouldn’t say that they look uncomfortable. Thou I like the definition of visual conservatism of a brand that includes toys and creates shoes (Irina Mussatova) that look like being able to weigh anchor in a second.
I love also the collection’s name “closes” from their major design idea “closed clothes”. mood of the collection = moderateness and aptitude to fly up. And all this just “for beauty”.

Julikafrombudapest: Hi Vivetta, I met you first back in university days but we never had the chance to really get to know each other. But since the first collection pieces I saw come out I loved your brand so much, and I started following you on your fan page and facebook profile. It felt nice to read you spontaneous feelings about your professional life changes, of some happiness, if you allow me to say that, coming from the realization of mental and physical work and also inspiring collaboration with friends of similar sensibility (Ilenia Corti Ed). How really were the last 2 years? Is it really fun?

Vivetta: The first steps were hard: my first collection was not produced: I gave it to a showroom that did not sell even one piece. Anyway I didn’t lose heart and I went on. In 2008 I won who’s next (premiere classe), fresh lounge competition and gained so the possibility to participate for free at the trade show in september that year; there my first clients and Vivetta met and the story started.
I sacrificed a lot and I still do it but it is fun. Every day something new happens and I start to be recognized by people of the fashion system that makes many things easier. Selling in Italy is more difficult; the buyers aren’t as open minded and fresh as the international ones. I love my job but I know I would not do this for someone else; I work at night, there’s no weekend of course because sat and sundays the manufacturers and clients are closed and I have my time to concentrate on researching and designing the collection.
Peaches showed interest for my collection and wanted to see some new pieces for NY fashion week and for her program at NylonTv, so I seazed the opportunity and having her for real customer I asked Peaches if she wanted to pose for my advertasing campaign. She accepted and I gave her some pieces she liked! I asked Ilenia (www.vernissageproject.com) for help, ’cause even if she’s not a professional photographer we have a great creative harmony, and we decided to involve Loulou Androlia (www.louloulovesyou.com) for her beautiful bows and started shooting in a cheap and creepy hotel in London: it was an adventure, we lost the return flight to Italy but we did it.
