Boris Bidjan Saberi’s 11bbs: Invisible through Snow Bleach

Boris Bidjan Saberi is a persian menswear designer officially in the Paris Fashion Week calendar. His research focuses in experimental and luxurious layered clothing with a high grade of handcrafted and organic elements and inspiration, which you can see in his interesting tumblr.

While showing his latest red aw/15-16 collection (in this video) he also launched a new line, 11bybbs, which keeps the major characters of Saberi’s designs but gives more space to street and skate culture, which he quotes as one of its main influences. “Snow Bleach” features mountain soldiers in white camouflage imitating snow in all its appearances (fresh, melted, dirty, icy…).

If he says that “the label increased a more and more distinctive attention for functional qualities, whilst maintaining a strong connection to urban roots” I would add that this evolution sees a natural expansion in 11bbs and its themes, instinctive primitiveness in which raw materials and accurate tailoring are fusing together. In life the body has to became and transform into our daily armour, in the streets more than ever, also with the help of technology (sportswear culture and health goth show us the way into the urban jungle); but the need of  organic materials such as felt and cotton (for the body) coexist in the skillful administration of inorganic elements like vinyl and tar.
