Blue bloods or young bloods?
Watch out boring people, Karl is here! Here with an extraordinary shoot starring Clemence Poesy, Anna Maria Jagodzinska and his muse Baptiste Giabiconi. The editorial shows a very dark vampire inspired scene both shot and modeled by Lagerfeld himself in an Interview with the Vampire theme. However, it is not a vampire being interviewed but Lagerfeld himself. The shoot was styled by Andrew Richardson who had styled editorials for V magazine, Vogue Italia, Vogue China, Harper’s Bazaar and also many advertising campaigns for brands such as Paul & Joe, Le Silla and Boss Black.
All things aside, Karl’s darker fashion sense is written all over the photographs. Although what had started out with Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire,-a.k.a a blue blood movie- starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, vampire stories today, attract a much younger audience with the arrival of Twilight series and the many tv series such as True Blood, Vampire Diaries and so on. However the darkness doesn’t seem to stay on our screens only but come to life with fashion into our wardrobes. Next fall winter season carries out great amount of elements from this movement considering the many, many capes used by designers such as Dsquared and especially in the darker collection of Ann Demeulemeester. As Karl Lagerfeld pointed out in the interview to a question he was asked, Blue Bloods or Young Bloods?, he replied; “Young bloods, or Young Blue Bloods.” Literally summarizing the elimination of the old and outmoded fashion from the new young blooded designers. Possibly casting a spot light on the youngsters such as his muse, and many others with better talent and fresh blood.
