White has invited Henrik Vibskov to hold a catwalk show in Milan. As well as being associated with his fashion brand, the name of Henrik Vibskov is commonly associated with the multitude of different worlds the designer creates around each of his men’s and women’s collections. In addition to designing his collections on a two-yearly basis, Vibskov often exhibits his works in art galleries and museums all over the world. The fashion designer Henrik Vibskov was born in Jutland, Denmark in 1972 and graduated from Central St. Martin’s, London in 2001. He has 14 collections to his name and is currently the only Scandinavian designer to feature on the official men’s fashion week calendar in Paris, in which he has been participating since 2003. Since the very start of his career, Henrik has taken part in festivals, contests and seminars such as: Swiss Textile Awards 2003, Hyères Festival 2004, Expo 2005 in Japan, Noovo Festival 2007 in Santiago de Compostella, and Notch Festival in Beijing in 2009. “The Big Wet Shiny Boobies”, “The Land of the Black Carrots”, “The Solar Donkey experiment”, “The Slippery Spiral Situation” and “The Fantabulous Bicycle Music Factory” are just some of the titles of Henrik Vibskov’s most recent fashion shows, with each title referring to a different but equally mesmerising world and set of logic.
Henrik’s world has been on display at the PS1 – MoMA in New York, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Akira Ikeda Gallery in Nagoya, Sotheby’s Gallery in New York, the ICA in London, the Zeeuws Museum in the Netherlands and Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris, to name just some of the most famous locations. Celebrities who have chosen to wear articles designed by Henrik Vibskov include artists such as M.I.A., Kanye West, Björk, The Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand, MUM, Lou Reed and Chicks on Speed. In a word COOL!
